LS6 Engine

Fairly new to the forum and thinking about buying an Ultima GTR. Is it possible to install an LS6 engine in an Ultima? If yes do you need any modified parts?

Mattyq Welcome...and all that good stuff

From your profile I see you are from Essex, the LS range of engines is frequently discussed here but in summary

1. Yes a LS6 engine would go in
2. There would be of course some modification, you would need to check out gearbox bell housings etc
3. Remember that post-1974 blocks require catalyst convertors. So a bespoke exhaust is required. Most will stick to a pre-1974 block with a good flowing 23 degree head. If you want serious power a 18degree head is available from Chapmans race heads
4. SBC engines are cheap and give good power check out www.amerspeed.com for factory engines

I HAVE FITTED THIS ENGINE TO A GTR ,ALL THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SORTED FROM EXHAUST TO STARTER AND FLY WHEEL.
