What Speaker Setup?
Discussion
I know, I know, you don't need a radio with the noise of the engine to listen to but........
I now need to order the speaker setup for my car and I'm interested to see what setup you have and where you have stuck the speakers.
I really don't want to drill big holes in the body as per the factory setup.
Cheers

Have found this pic, maybe it helps. Was done by real car radio specialists and they had no problem to install it there, also no rattles or other problems since. In total 4 speakers and a custom made subwoofer behind the passenger seat. All other components behind the drivers seat. Radio/MP3 player is installed above head, on special shock absorbers. Sound quality excellent due to (I think) 1000W, up to a speed of approx. 80 mph. But we had to replace battery and alternator (now 100A), as they were too weak.
I used this same position for my low/mids speakers, and the tweeters will be in the corners of the dash. See www.ultimagtr.ca/december_2004/index_1.htm for pics.

I put mine both in the factory location to either side of the seats and under the dash. I made brackets for the mid-ranges that fit under the dash where the triangle is formed by the tubes. You can't see the speakers, but (when the car is off!) you can hear them fine. I also attached my lighter socket on the spreaker bracket. Out of the way, but accessable when needed.

My speakers are as per the picture above.
I have no problem hearing the music as long as the music choice is loud and stiring. You will have no success with opera (Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture accepted)or the 'Archers'.
I also have an intercom system (designed for motorbikes) which I have never used.
