Shame it's gone to Spain, would like to have seen it in the flesh....

Anyone recognise who's car it was previously? I wonder if they will offer a conversion package for existing Ultima owners who want something different.
Looks like they improved on the weight distribution slightly. Also done properly with Motec etc, I am looking forward to seeing the performance figures.
From the small pictures its not easy to see clearly where everything fits.
I wonder what the under canopy temperatures reach when both these little motors have been spanked for a few hard miles
edited to say: More proof that the scoops are needed to help improve the air circ.

Performance figures yet to be confirmed but expect record breaking results in every respect

There is no doubt that a Chevy will out last those engine 10 times over but --- in a world going mad on Polictal Correctness, why not
You just gota like the bloke for doing it... even if it's as peaky as hell ( doesn't build boost below 7,000rpm with those turbos ) and maynot make it round a 4K miles Eurohoon holiday..
Just Respect for having a go and seeing what can be done, now wheres the Stig and that Test track.... Bring it on Clarkson....

Mad and I quite like it - although the Mini caught my eye too!
Talking of wings - I took the Sports to the Ring and was forced to drive without the Wing while the 'officials' checked the rules - something to do with decapitating distracted motorcyclists...
Can honestly say it was horrible - back end came out at the exit of Flantzgarten 2 (the blind over crest left with steep downhill drop off that turns right while still decending) at around 120 and put me in a sweat! Good news is that the German officials did check and said it was legal - would you get that over here????
Cheers,
Dave.

I was wondering how they are managing the differential speed and power requirements to the front and rear wheels. Doesn't Motec have a traction control option?
Prior to the Z-car photos, I expected them to run both motors through a custom mounted LSD center diff. But what do I know.
I saw in a US hotrod magazine not to long ago that somebody has mounted 2 Hayabusa cylinder/head packages on a bespoke block with a 180* crank. I think it said it should put out 400 hp or so at 10k ish rpm

I know when they have installed twin engines in the 4WD Tiger they have used a Motec management system that could be used as a 'virtual' diff. It would reduce power to the engine driving the front when steering lock was applied. This would help elliminate understeer. Because the engines drive seperate axles through independant 'boxes there is no problem with one end running at different speeds. I have even seen one of their cars running different gears, say 4th on one engine and 5th on the other. The lower geared engine just rev'd higher to keep up. You can even run with only one engine.
Personaly I'm not convinced it is the right application for an Ultima. But as Clive says. Hats of to them just for the sheer anti PCness of it all.

Noticed the low stance and extended front air dam, might help compensate for the lack of rear wing.
I would have thought that adding downforce at the front would make the problem of rear end lift much worse. Firstly because the splitter throws more air over the top of the car which will increase the rear end lift slightly, but more importantly by having downforce at the front it will increase the imbalance between the front and rear. This is likely to lead to high speed oversteer.
If anyone is planning to visit "Autosport International" at the NEC then don't miss the Hayabusa powered Ultima which has been talked about on this thread. If it goes as well as its engineered then it should be some car. Two, 1.3 litre turbo engines give (a claimed) 900 bhp at 1.5 bar boost. Total weight is 980 kg and it has inboard suspension and 4 wheel drive. I've taken some pictures but don't know how to post them to this site.
