GTR 720 EU12 KJE
Discussion
Hello everyone,
After getting some good news at work, I was browsing the classified ads as I have done many many times before, searching for something special. As I selected Ultimas on pistonheads, I didn't expect to see anything different to the last time, but no, I was wrong.
I found this: http://le-autos.co.uk/product/ultima-gtr720-720bhp...
I think I have perhaps seen it advertised before but on Sunday it was at a special reduced 'today only' price which caught my eye.
I rang Daniel at LE-Autos and he was fantastically enthusiastic about the car, believing it to be the best sorted Ultima he has ever driven. He had a vast amount of knowledge about this particular example as well as Ultimas in general.
The car was built by Les Cole from 2011 to 2012, apparently to an extremely high standard. It has the registration EU12 KJE, registered on 16/05/12.
Does anyone on here know anything about this car? I believe that having the LS7 engine tuned to 720 bhp by American Speed is quite a rare thing to find? Is it true that it does not require any special maintenance? No frequent rebuilds or crazy short servicing periods? I am told that this car is built to the exact same spec as the world record setting car featuring many upgrades, whereas many are not like this as standard from the factory. With it currently having covered 5500 miles and having had the tune up at Ultima themselves in 2013, does the price seem fair?
Thank you in advance for any advice on this seemingly amazing car!
Kind regards,
Andrew.

only an observation as i dont know the car, but looking at the photos
the record car has long wish bones at the front, and this is noticeable as the front wheel has next to no depth on the outside, but that car has width, so id suggest short wish bones.
i think also the record car has anti roll bars front and back... i dont see any in the photos, and they arent a factory option anymore
the record car is a 720 hp carb sbc engine, with special exhausts and no cats, the ls7 in this car, is a modern engine with fuel injection fitted with cats
it looks a fab car in the photos, and possibly is a fantastic car in the flesh but to advertise it as the same spec as the record car, needs to be checked.

From my perspective and experience in buying;
Look at a number of cars for sale, visit the factory and look at the build quality of their cars, contact some owners local to you and take a look at theirs for comparison, take photos, check the build info/receipt folder for work carried out on the car you are thinking about buying, i have every receipt in mine, dyno sheet would be good indication of power along with the receipt for the engine mods.
I nearly got burnt with an Ultima I looked at, take someone who knows Ultimas with you when you buy for a second opinion.
Car in add looks good but I have no knowledge of the car, remember buyer beware. Good luck.

Hi Andrew
I went through this exercise last year and bought a 2010 GTR LS7, with 2000 miles on. I had looked at a number of Ultimas by then and had a good idea of what I was looking at. If you haven't done this I would recommend that you speak to the factory about the spec as they know it and take someone like Steve Smith and pay him a days wages, it will be worth it.
