Time to play with the ignition advance etc and was wondering if anybody had fitted a knock sensor to an AS engine and if so any feedback.

I think you'll run into problems fitting a knock sensor to a high performance Chevy. On a more mild chevy lump it probably wouldn't be a problem though.

Was wondering about fitting one to mine. Seems from my research that there isn't too much of an issue with most SBCs unless you have hairy stuff like gear drives. Roller cams seem to affect the acoustic profile a bit I think. What various folk seem to do is just log knock events then feed the information back into the ignition map manually, later. I think that this is easy to do with most ECUs it certainly is with MegaSquirt.

The knock sensor kit uses bosch sensor and a control unit with adjustment for frequency and sensitivity so hopefully will reduce background noise
