I just wanted to shout out the news (as it's my car): the first Ultima GTR was officially registered in Germany in Dec `04. After a huge amount of blood, sweat and tears (literally) I managed to have my car registered by the german TUV (registration authority) which was not easy to achieve. I fitted an LS6 all aluminium engine with full emission control (i.e. cats, etc.) with a G50 6-speed transaxle. With all the eguipment, it meets at least the EURO3 norm. This year I'll to go for EURO4 with the new 6.0l LS2 engine. From now on, Ultimas can be ordered and registered over here, the first GTR was already ordered by a customer from the factory. I'll try to assist future owners with their build and registration, this forum helped me A LOT during mine. So expect to see some more Ultimas on "The Ring" very soon!

looks very good my friend! you could wait for the new LS7 (7ltr, dry sump, Ti conrods........500BHP) to come out later in the year. but it will be exspencive!

also, do you have any engine bay pics? interested in the route for the exhausts.

thanks Chris.

Will post engine bay pics soon. The installation of the LS7 will be quite difficult as we need to wait for the ECM software to be available for the public (was the same with the LS2). The major work is not to get these engines running, but to disable the hundreds of options that are controlled by the ECM in the Corvette. If one sensor's missing you'll immediately have some trouble codes or the engine will simply not run. So I'll try to have the new LS2 (with software and EURO4 emission control) ready by summer...we'll see.

you might be able to get the new engine (ls2 - gen 4) to work with the older ls1 gen 3 electronics, the sensors may even be the same ?

you could try looking for a company called "centrafugal air pumps australia" - capa

or another program called "LS1 edit" which alows you to modify the paramaters of the computer/ems

That's what I meant: you can make the Gen4 engines run with the older electronic, but thus you don't have access to the newer features like e.g. the new emission control parameters. For instance, the LS6 uses an airpump to heat up the exhaust gases for the cats to go faster from open into closed loop. This airpump needs to be controlled by the ECM. The LS2 doesn't have this airpump but uses other sensors and equipment, so of course the LS2 will run with the old electronic, but it won't meet the EURO4 emission regulation and that's what I want to achieve. As a maater of fact, it'll be a long time until I can even think of officially implanting this engine into my car.
