Repositioned ignition switch

When building my GTR I made a mistake in fitting the ignition switch near the gearknob.(I have a right hand gear change)

It never occured to me until Richard mentioned it when it was SVA'd.

Result was stabbing the back of my hand with the ignition key every time I put it in 5th.

So now I've moved it to above the door mirror switch and blanked off hole with a grommet. Much better!

I'm sure I have seen lots of others with this problem?

common mistake as it is shown there in the build manual when I did mine (because the pic was of a Getrag instalation).

The factory do a fan overide switch that just happends to be exactly the same shape, I installed one of these as they are usefull in traffic jams and drag strip que's, also saved having a grommit.

still have the same problem , need to move assembly but a bit scared of cutting leather dash this is my last job on the to do list
