Chevy 5.7L - what's under inlet manifold ?

If I were to lift the carb intake/inlet manifold away from the block, what would I see ?
- certainly water holes/ways for the cooling system
- certainly ports into heads for mixed air and fuel
- but what about any oilways into the manifold ?

Reason for asking is a minor water leak from front of intake manifold (moist to touch after a drive and leaves a small damp patch on the garage floor), but could it also mean water is leaking into the oil system from the inlet manifold ?

There's no white smoke from exhausts ever by the way.

Yes you could be leaking water into the oil ways. Below the manifold is the V. The oil flows through here down past the cam into the sump (A simplistic version )

You MAY just need to re-torque the manifold bolts. I had this problem and this cured it.

It looks like this underneath. You can see where mine was leaking on the left hand side.
Try a re-torque of your manifold bolts first, then replace the gaskets - I personally prefer FEL-PRO gaskets.
