GTR Windscreen fitting?
Discussion
Ahh, Decisions!!
Well, I fitted mine and it went quite well, although rather nerve racking!
Preperation is the key and it takes a while to mask up and get everything ready.
Trial fit it and see what you think. Mine looked a far way out to start with, but a bit of packing here and there and it looked ok.

Used screen fitter out of Yellow Pages.
No masking just plonked it in and ran his finger round to take off the excess. Then used a washing up solution in a spray bottle working his way round cleaning up. finished with solvant which put a shine on the sealant.
I'm not belittleing what he did as it was pure skill. The amount of sealant has to be spot on as there is no way to clear excess from the inside. The shape of the sealant bead is also important, the section was like 2 mountain peaks but one smaller than the other. He insisted that I be there to help as reaching that far was not easy but with 2 of us with vacuum handles we lowered it in milimeter perfect.
As a result of seening him do it that way I did the side windows and headlights the same way, ie no masking.

Sorry it was just a local self employed fitter who was willing to have a go at something different.
When I booked the job he reserved the option to walk away if he was not happy to tackle it.
As I said his only reservation was that he could not reach across on his own. He said the first contact of screen to sealant had to be spot on and steady or the sealant would squidge out in all the wrong places.
We did at least 3 dry runs.
The whole job took no more than half an hour.
