Yay for Xmas breaks.
I seem to remember you went for a Megasquirt system? Did you end up using the Holley Stealth Ram you bought off of me?
Yes it has come together nicely. Just got to start the tuning process. Running very rich at present but has no coolant so I can only run it for a short while. Will add the coolant (Evans) tomorrow then I can back the mixture down and set the base timing and idle.I seem to remember you went for a Megasquirt system? Glad to hear you are getting time to work on her Steve.
She was one of the cars I saw at Stoneleigh many years ago that got me into the thing that is Ultima ownership.
I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't drive mine for a few weeks so god knows what it is like to go for years without the 'fix'.
Le Mans Classic for me this year. In the process of booking everything at the moment.

Keep us posted - I am more than interested. Steve
I have just started dismantling mine ready to install Holley EFI.

As ever, finding a list of things that need to be renewed as I go along... new gas struts.. suspension bush...
I am hoping no more than a couple of months...
Excellent news Steve! Good to hear of another MegaSquirt Ultima coming together.
What are you using for timing, a crank wheel? My system is still using the dizzy but I'm not convinced the timing is particularly accurate especially under light load conditions. Not come across a particularly neat solution for putting a timing wheel on an old SBC though.

I bolted a trigger wheel between the damper and pulley with great success when I installed my programable ignition system. did away with the troublesome distributor completely by putting an oil pump drive plug in the hole. The plug now sits on my bench as I have gone dry sump and don't need oil pump drive.
