I came across this video of an interesting and very neat way to remove the Ultima front and rear clips.

Good find

I'm more interested in the body retaining clips that he's used and how they work etc.....

I've always be told that when opening the front clip to pull open standing in front of the car pulling from the middle of the radiator opening so that both sides raise together avoiding stress fractures around the front of the clip. To remove the rear I use a rolled up duvet spread on the floor, release all fastenings and 'roll' the clip off and onto the duvet.
Failing that just call a neighbour over to help......

That's the way I've always done it, no sign of stress damage to the front clip after 16 years of opening and closing.

i wonder what stops those clips moving while driving... i wouldnt fancy the front clip being loose at the front because those swing levers have moved
