Morning,

Starting to sort the car out to venture on track later this year & one area I am concerned about is the rear visibility with the standard mirrors/wing set up. Has anyone raised the height of the rear wing a few inches to improve the situation - if so how did you achieve it & was there any noticeable changes in the cars handling - Thanks.

Jeff Schwartz in the US did it and on track seemed to do ok, but think he had a large splitter to balance it.

Jonny @ MacG should know, alternatively replace the mirrors for something else. I went for different mirrors for exactly the same reason.

Morning Simon
Yes I had a new set of rear wing towers made by SS jars year raising the rear wing by 40mm. I found no handling difference but run a front splitter. See attached photos.

You could fit a camera that links up to the rear view mirror they work day & night.

Been there done that, just not as good as a mirror (IMO).

biggrin Expected! I usually get in there first....

I view it as the default GTR owner response when they realise they should have left the roof off... laughlaughfuriousshoot

run different wing mirrors only for the reason standard mirrors you cant see anything,,, a real shame as the mirror its self gives a very good view all round except the designers forgot they were putting a bloody great wing in the way

This is how I raised my rear wing about 4 inches, and it made a huge improvement in rear visibility. It also improved the high speed handling by balancing out the car - I am however running a large front splitter.

Does it remove quickly so you can open the rear clam?

I like the GTR mirrors. They look good and in keeping with the car. Being quite high up and with the rear clam narrowing at that height they almost work like rear view mirrors...... You can see the whole road behind. The only down side is really the visibility due to the wing.

Seems to me the solution suggested is the ideal one.. Leave the mirrors alone and raise the wing a couple of inches.
