Porsche G50 Speedo sensor

So my speedo has called it a day. Having had a quick chat with the factory they've said that they do NOT use the old Porsche speedo sensor (installed in the diff casing on the passenger side - green and brown wire) citing poor reliability and install an external sensor now as standard.

Anyone else had problems with the old Porsche sensor and if so what was the solution?

I use the Porsche sensor on my G50/52 with no issues.

I do, however, use a SPA dash so no Ultima dials.
