Yes, what's the problem?

Here's some light evening reading whilst I go out for a few beers.

Ive no experience of a holley, but they are pretty similar - I wouldn't of thought that a swap would make much if any of a difference in power.

From my expierence of them, they seem ok and are easy to change needles on, jets can be changed with fuel still in the float bowl.

I went DIY fuel injection in the end.

I had a 750cfm on a 406ci. I suffered the usual problems. Stalling under braking, terrible hot weather idle and poor fuel consumption

Why are you looking to change?

I prefer a Holley with "dial a jets" installed and jet extensions. Never have to replace jets, spill fuel or stall under braking. Edelbrocks are for low powered old street rods. Holleys always make more power.
Then there's also the Commander 950 EFI.....

How can one brand of carb give more power over another one assuming they are both delivering the correct fuel/air mixture?

WRT to hot idle problems, I solved this on mine by 1)fitting a carb spacer which insulates the carb from the manifold and 2)recirculating the fuel back to the tank
I didn't have stalling under braking (see my profile to understand), but spluttering going round corners/bumps, looking at the lambda guage it was clear that it was dumping fuel in the manifold.

my holley equiped zz4 is dying under braking,a replacement may be more cost effective than wasting cash on mods/set up to the holley.

The edelbrock is likely to suffer the same problems with braking.
Fuel injection?

They do one very similar (probably identical) for 4x4 applications, not sure if it would solve the issue on ultimas because its a g-force thing, whereas on 4x4/low rider its a sloshing around problem presumably.

Edelbrock is Weber made in America, I'm lead to believe. Nuff said

Yes, made by Weber but a repop of an ancient Carter made in the early 60's.
Don't know why more HP with Holley, but dyno reads higher. Try a Holley street avenger for a trouble free carb.
