The wife's contemplating an Ultima she's got bored of the Caterham, which is too similar to my 7 - I've been Into Kitcars for many years and have many old Kit car mags, but after extensive thumbing through these I can only find anything readable in Kitcar 9/00 and Which Kit 11/03. Does anyone have any others that you could post on here for her[and me smile] to read.

Unfortunately the pictures seem to have gone.

There area few blogs on builds and opinions etc but most content is about the actual build, I'll happily offer my own blog as an example as I bought mine rather than build it and I talk about my purchase decision near the beginning etc....

Many thanks for the PH link - Shame the photo's are missingfrown
Why can't you put ancient magazine articles on Ultima within this thread?
Could you put Jpegs of them on Flickr[or similar] and provide a link?
I've trawled the net but could'nt find anything like a decent Ultima road test.
Failing that can you PH email them to me?
I'm not on facebook or any other similar site - so thats not an option.
Once again many thanks for your timethumbup
I remember a very old article about Ted marlow and his racing ultima, the article had pics of his workshop, and included extensive writings of the mods he'd incorporated into his car - I was Green with envy, I'm a toolmaker and all the machine tools he had in his garage I'd love to have in minesmile Sadly that Article remains elusive, can anyone tell me which magazine and hopefully the publication date, I have all my old KC mags from early 80's I just can't find itfrown

If you're on newer mediums I'm currently building and updating weekly. I've been answering questions in the comments and I'll probably do a couple Q&A videos towards the end of the build.

Many thanks for posting - Great selfy vid's - wish I had the time to do something similarsmile
I really need to read some unbiased reviews of the ultima before the wife & I commit to getting one, WeI've always researched thoroughly any projects, the Ultima is proving real difficult.
I was going to wish you good luck with your build - But I can see you don't need no luck you're a well prepped dudesmile
Keep us posted.

I may have spotted your Ultima Bodyshell at Stoneleigh Kit car show earlier this year - Love the color - a gazillion times better than boring 'undertakers' BLACK or 'cistern' White.
If you're getting a car like an Ultima you want to stand out from the sheep!!
Here's the photo showing what I suspect was your Ultima, and also a shot of a few Ultima's present at that showsmile

Awesome mate Many thanks I have the PPC mag from 3/07, Must have been nice having your car featured in a National Magsmile PPC use to be a great magazine for Technical kit car Builders. I even Had 'the Prof' - Dave Walker to Rolling road my Lotus7 at Emerald after I fitted the Zetec - awesome bloke with great tech knowledge, he always says Hi whenever I bump into him at various car showsthumbup
Can't believe there ain't more Ultima articles available?? The PPC mag article got me to thinking maybe the Ted marlow article I mentioned earlier maybe in a non Kitcar motoring mag - if that's the case I'm gonna be busy for awhile trying to find itfrown
I spoke to many Ultima owners at Stoneleigh, but owners really ain't the best people to speak to about their cars - they only tend to tell you the good bits, I'm interested in the not so good aspects of ownership - sure your understandsmile what surprised me was how many never built 'em themselvessmile

EVO 86:
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/56355/this_month...

Was a good read.

Re ownership, if you get a well built one they're relatively hassle free, although as a caterham owner, you're probably aware you don't treat them like production cars.

If you struggle to get a copy of that EVO, drop me a pm - I think I have a copy and can take a look over the weekend and scan the article if needed.

Thx Deadscoob.
Actually, it was not EVO 86, but EVO 80, but the date, and the Carrera GT article quickly pointed me in the right direction. Will read this afternoon!

I haven't got the EVO #80 you mentioned - would appreciate a scan if you can manage it pleasethumbup
Since the 3/07 PPC find mentioned above, I've been trawling through a huge pile of old car mags [its gonna take a few more days to go through 'em all] But I've come up with a real cracker - Autocar 7/03 their 0-100-0 tests, If you own an Ultima you'll want to read thissmile
If you want a scan then let me know
Re ownership
I'm not bothered about any Ultima maintenance issues I've owned a 7/caterham/kitcar etc etc. since early 70's and always do all my own Builds/maintenance and upgrades, With something Ultima fast I'd want to do it myself to ensure it's been done correctly - was more interested in other ownership/driving factors
