I'm running an Edelbbrock pro folw xt with the 90mm cable throttle body. I can't seem to get enough pedal movement to open the throttle fully, anyone had the same problem ?
The only way I can see of sorting this out is to make a smaller cable pulley and fit it to the throttle body or design / buy another linkage

You could get a smaller quadrant, however you may be able to extend the length of the throttle pedal end a small amount, the further away from the pivot the greater the travel at the end.

I think the smaller pulley from Edelbrock is the better solution if it exists, failing that I can make one. To extend the length of the throttle end will mean it has to go up and over the lower chassis rail, not a problem to do but then this will increase the angle that the cable enters the adjuster and it may start cutting it in half running through it (I'm not 100% happy with the angle it enters now).
I'll mail Edelbrock and see if they have an off the shelf solution, thanks for the reply

Yeah sorry, it was a given to move the adjuster.

I have decided to modify the cable wheel, figured I’ve got nothing to lose as its no good as it is. Luckily there is a flat thicker plate on the throttle body side so I will make a smaller quadrant and weld it in. I have measured a maximum cable pull of 42mm but to get this I may need to make a more flexible ankle joint so guessing at 35mm and test to see if it’s comfortable

Did you find the source of the ticking noise or are you happy with things as they are?

Engine hasn’t run since, I have been concentrating on the charge cooling system but intended to get the engine running sooner. I couldn’t find anything internally that caused it so I will get the engine going again and let it run for a while to let the lifters fully pump up once I sort the throttle problem, fingers crossed I will be back to where I was months ago

Welded and fitted, now I have full throttle. Start up and Megasquirt tuning next (fingers crossed)
