Mid engine transmission

When you use a Porsche transaxle in an Ultima (or any mid engined car) how do you make it drive the correct way? Do you just install it the otherway up or turn the diff around?
I've always wanted to design and build my own car and the Ultima would probably be the nearest to what I have in mind.

Just turn it upside down, adapt vent plug to be drain and fit vent. Ultima provide parts. Seems to work fine.
