My Ultima Sport rad has sprung a leak.

I am tempted to get it refurbed/re-cored but also thinking on replacing with an alloy one.

Anyone have any compelling stories of improvement when going to aluminium? If so, any recommended suppliers?

Who ever you get it from, have it pressure tested before install. A number of batch production runs are often junk from every supplier.

Auto Bionics do an upgrade on the radiator.

In general terms ali rads are lighter but do have a tendency to crack due to stress and vibration.
If they are not thicker or uprated then they are size for size less efficient.

Autobionics may do a rad but it may not be suitable for a sport so worth checking.

Thanks guys.

The front of the car is light enough.. smile

Perhaps I will just go for a re-core..

I might also add that I am using Evans NPG and that like a slightly different design of rad.
