Should I attempt it?

Hey everyone,
I just found out about the Ultima and have a Chevy 350 motor sitting here waiting to be put into something. I have always wanted to build my own car but feared starting a project because of my lack of knowledge. I know my way around a car better then most but I dont think I could build a car from scratch. Anyway, what do you all think?
Thanks,
Joe

I had never done anything like this before, it really is like building layers, each is eay by itself together they look very complicated.
Things in your favour the factory always help and it is excellent, they can also do bits you might worry about, ie fit the body work.
The ultimaclub.com have a board for cries for help.

I have to say its one of the most satisfying things I ever did.
I too was in a similar situation - a new 3/4 race Small Block sitting in the corner of the garage which was begging to go in something. I was a bit worried that I may lack in automotive engineering experience (although I am pretty handy at DIY car maintenance) but over the 4 or so years that I have been building my Sport I have found little that couldn't be overcome with a cup of coffee and a bit of a think (with the odd call to the factory).
I have enjoyed the building so much (I think 'crafting' may be a better term ) that I am already planning my next two build projects...
Go for it..
