Gearbox to Chevy adapter
Discussion
I assume you installed the 930 inverted, you didnt swap the diff round.
Did you have to machine the bellhousing back at all to make it fit in an ultima?
How are the gear ratios?
Have you fitted an oil cooler?
I suppose this answers my question regarding sourcing this stuff in the UK.
Thanks for your help

Yes the box is inverted and I used this to the max including drag strip action and 500ftlbs with no problems.
kenndy are used to supplying these kits for Ultimas so there is no problems with fitting.
I didn't fit an oil cooler and the ratios were excellent with a genuine 30+mph per 1000rpm in 4 gear and 60mph in 1st and 100mph in 2nd....
I did have a ZF LSD in it with the highest ratio CWP it could have to maximise the ratios.
Excellent info, did you have to have the box machined or is the bellhousing original?
The one I picked up has been machined for install in a standard 911 body they have shortened the shaft and bellhosing by about 2cm.
If you ever want to part with you spare(unlikely I know) let me know.
Cheers

The casing wasn't machined at all the only development required is to convert from cable to hydraulic clutch engagment.
The spare I have is not really that anymore now as I have sold my ultima and am using a 6 speed GT3 box in my new project.
I have been using it to help with mock ups on my new chassis but only because its there.
I'm open to offers.

JoeT,
Yes Kennedy Engineering is THE place to get adapters. They have been in the business since the mid '60s and produce gorgeous bits. Check out www.GT40s.com in the Tech - Engines and Drivetrains for a lot of good info on Porsche transaxles.
Regards,
Lynn
BTW: I have no connection to Kennedy other than as a customer: www.kennedyeng.com/index.htm

Hi Lynn,
Thanks for the link, I also use this nickname on the GT40s forum, I have had a look at a lot of the stuff on there, but most of it relates to the G50 also Ford Blocks.
I was interested if anyone in the UK was doing anything, I did contact Ultima, but they will only supply parts to Ultima customers which is fair enough. NF also do some adapter parts.
But it does seem as though Kennedy are the place to get this.
Thanks
