Finished the carbon fibre panels at the weekend - very pleased with the results! :)

Looks great, makes it look like 2005... Nice to see that you did go full out with the carbon fiber panels. I didn't do the sides in the tub.

I don't recommend to do the top of the instrument panel though, it shines like a mirror in the front screen...

Thanks chap. Dash is all black leather, so no worries on that score (I hope!)

I thought about this but it would be hard to retrofit especially on top of the sidepods. CJ where did you get the carbon trim and would it be ok to cover the front splitter?

Agree on the retrofit Guy, it would be very hard to apply with the panels in place and carbon fibre is not a very forgiving material! You get one chance to apply it right as you can't pull it off again without distorting the weave badly.

You could cover the front splitter (except you took yours off ) but would probably have to do it in several pieces. There is a limitation on the sheet size too. Even though the adhesive is very strong on ally, applying it to a porous surface (wood) exposed to the elements would probably result in it coming adrift over time.

I have a local contact for the c/f though (High Wycombe), not the most reliable bloke in the world, but eventually comes up with the goods.

It's about 100 quid a square metre.

I'm sure some chav shop will have a roll of stick on CF look alike plastic ;-)

Just got the template out and should be getting a new one cut to shape to replaced the broken one. Also looking at new methods of fitting and perhaps having it made in three pieces. Let me know if you are interested

Racing on hold since Charlie was born. Have sold my old car now

Locost is also having its own issues atm, so I'm looking into other formulae, MX-5 racing looks promising next, ether that or drifting or rally

I'm wondering what do do next year. The academy was brilliant, and I'll probably stay with Caterhams for at least another year, but may well move to another formula or even back to relaxing weekends sprinting/hillclimbing after that
