So are we all running Cup 2's or has anyone found something that works better? I love the Cup 2 rears but I hate the fronts. They tramline like crazy and they're almost too sticky for average road work. I thought about putting a set of PS4S on the front just to see what would happen...

Thoughts?

I have installed a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02s. I have used its predecessor on other cars with excellent results. Unfortunately, I have not driven the car yet. I will do so very soon, but not yet. I had Michelin PS2s on Ultima 1.0 from '08 to '18 and never did it tramline. To me, tramlining is the worst of issues for a car driven on the street. To anyone reading this, the Ultima does not inherently tramline. If your car does, then you either have an issue with tires, alignment, or shocks.

I never said it was inherent in the Ultima. Cup 2's are known to do this. My shocks are the new Nitrons (I love them) and my alignment is perfect. The roads here are garbage so that's a major factor. Tire inflation also seems to play a role; lower psi reduces the tramlining but makes it extremely difficult to maneuver in parking lots, higher psi makes low speed turning easier but increases tramlining. Cup 2's are great on the freeway at any psi but 2 lane roads here are a handful inflated to anything over 23psi.

"The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, while known for exceptional dry grip and track performance, can exhibit tramlining on the street due to their design focused on track conditions, leading to a tendency to follow road imperfections."

Maybe the Continentals or PS2's have a more forgiving sidewall or less aggressive compound in the front that make them less susceptible? IDK. That's kinda why I was asking the group.
