Just been looking at the Tractive R-ace active suspension, quite fancy giving that a go on my build, I’ve contacted the company to see if a kits available for the Ultima ( no news yet) There seems to be a few companies offering electronic damping, anyone got any experience of fitting/using them?

Have you spoken to Meteor Motorsport? They are Tractive dealers in the U.K. I've got them fitted to my Caterham (by Meteor), they may be willing to work with you to develop something?

During the owners meet to Nitron this summer, Nitron are now doing active suspension. Perhaps give them a call.

Thanks for the information, Nitron will be next on my list. Had a reply direct from Julian Van Dijken, senior account manager Automotive at Tractive, confirming no Ultima kit and that a custom developed Ultima kit would be a minimum €15000 + tax

That's like "donate a kidney" type money

Once developed though it would be cheaper to apply to other Ultimas, agree to a kick back on future sales? And 15k sounds reasonable for what they are doing.

Went for the Nitron R3 set up, car will need to go back to Nitron when finished to tune the electronics, base map installed now. Hope it performs as well as it looks, probably going to be a work in progress as it’s only the 2nd Ultima RS system they have done, 1st is in USA. I’ll post a picture later of it fitted on the chassis.

1st problem I’ve come across is that the Ultima front lift kit won’t fit the R3 Nitron kit, the body of the shocks is to large, so if you want to use the R3 kit on your Ultima then use the Nitron front lift kit, this leaves me a bit stuck for the moment, waiting for a price on the lift cups from Nitron and then it should just be fittings to sort to make it all work. Pictures of the rear mocked up for electrical lengths to be sorted.
