Comments please regarding Fastco Automotive Products (USA) engines compared to American Speed. I'm thinking of buying a GTR with a 6.3L Fastco engine, ie the black one for sale in the classifieds.

Hi Dave

i believe you will find more information on Fastco engines within the Cobra pages in the forums. Darryl at Fastco has been a regular supplier for D.B Replicas for a while from what i understand and from what ive read they seem to be reliable high power engines. hope this points you in the right direction.

I am considering building an Ultima and after hearing a discussion at Donnington last week about British American Engines I'm now considering one of their units. Apparently, they built an engine for an Ultima customer, after he had a serious problem from a US supplier. They sorted him out and he now regularly takes to the Knockhill circuit.

My GTR has a Peter Knight (UK based V8 specialist) built 383ci in it, and for the most part I luv it...

(just not the low rpm lumpy idle with a single plane manifold and holley carb)

I used British American in my first car but went for an American builder the 2nd time round.
