Had a very close shave on Friday, over taking a car and a lorry, the car just pulled out into the side of my GTR forcing me wide and into a very nasty pot hole destroying the offside ride rim and expensive Goodyear F1 tyre ( don't ask what speed ), a call to the factory ( as the AA refuses to support a member who's car does not have a spare ) they sent one of their guys with a replacement rim and tyre - Thanks Factory - great service !! But an expensive day !!

A preventative solution to pillock Ford drives was also found at the factory, the rev limiter was raised to 7600 rpm to enable even faster overtaking, job done !!

I'd suggest that you think about putting in a compensation claim for the damage from the pothole.

If it's a trunk road then you'll need to go to the highways agency, if it's a local road then go to the local council. Get a picture of the pothole asap before it disappears to support the claim.

Really? My TVR didn't come with a spare either, just a couple of foam cans. I'll have to hassle the AA, as they are quite happy to take my money...

Ignoring the fact that the pillock ford driver is blind as a bat, he must also be hard of hearing to not realise the red beast was overtaking alongside.

Glad it's only a wheel and tyre that got wrecked. The poster who mentioned claiming for the replacement against the local council is spot on. I have heard of successful claims in these instances. It also leads to the relevent pothole being put to the top of the repair list.

I think they would be smart enough to ask what speed G Man was going, he would have to be going pretty well above the speed limit to trash a rim wouldn't he?

nope - I just got the local council to pay for a pair of new rims for my Caterham after it trashed them bouncing through a pot hole - at higher speed the wheel is actually less likely to get damaged.
