He did a good job with the pulleys hey, big wraps with lots of surface area.

Small is good for the blower, plently of room to add a turbo later....

Headers will be built with the engine in the car. Gonna build ones like Jeff has on his car with the pipes running down low. Haven't decided how to do the cats and mufflers yet, probably cats down low, run the pipes to the rear, bring them to the top, run thru mufflers towards the front, then turn back towards the rear again with tailpipes...

Also thinking that the rear mufflers from a vette might work somehow if I can get em to fit in the back somewhere...

Is'nt it possible to build a cat and muffler in one? because its all very close to the engine exhaust...? that way its lighter and easyer? to build, also the cat works a bit as a muffler, so a cat/muffler system could be possible I think(read I hope)

OK, stuffed around with it a bit in CAD... I think it will work something like this with Corvette mufflers on the top and the Cats underneath.

The Corvette mufflers are in/out on the same end so no need to have pipes going round and round...

Is that exhaust to scale in the CAD rendering? the cage looks too big or the exhausts too small.

If it is measured correctly then it looks very neat, hope it all goes well with the transmission in place.

No, its not to scale, my chassis is in the UK and the engine in the US. I'm just messin around... it's not that far off though cos I imported a chassis drawing into cad and followed the geometry, got the muffler dimensions from the web.

Here's another couple with balancer pipes.

...... the Corvette pipes on the muffler I found were 2.5" in and 2x2" out... gotta see what else I can find in this config.

The Vette mufflers would cut out the need for this sort of thing.......

Might be worth modelling the gearbox, linkages etc to pre-empt clearance/heat problems.

The driver behind will potentially be looking down the exhaust equivalent of 2 double barrel shotguns, I've not seen an ultima with 4 exit pipes before should be interesting.

personaly I only do not like the 2x2 outlets...but think the rest is a nice sellution
Hope you can find sort a like but then with only 2 big outlets and not 4...or you must like that ofcorse...

A quick question, the back of the silence/muffler is pointing in the opposite direction of exhaust flow. So the flow from the exhaust manifold moves towards the back then up and over and forward and then I assume the pressure in the box forces the hot gasses out the back. Isn't the flow going to be restricted and end up sapping power? I guess it depends on the internal design of the silencer as well.

You don't? look at this one, its an Ultima with a Alfa 3.2 twin turbo V6 engine and around 510hp?


those 2 rocketlancers look better than 4 machineguns

4 decent sized pipes arranged more like the standard setup and with grills (which this does not have) might be better. 4 might be too crowded 2 definitely looks good already.

With all those horses I would think you will need bigger than 2 1/2" inlet pipes.
