Driving along yesterday, came round a bend and hit a large piece of wood (or bit of tree) at about 40 mph which has destroyed the front corner including the splitter and one of the lights. There goes the engine upgrade this winter. The worst part is that the car will be off the road and that Stig may well finish his car before I get a new front section. If anybody has a new front section that they don't intend fitting soon please let me know.

Bugger. Sorry to hear it mate. Maybe that duff brake connector was trying to tell you something

Hope you get it fixed soon.

PS. No, you can't have my front clip and paint it!

Sorry to hear that. Better put a request for the bodywork in now as there is usually a waiting list. I myself have hit dead foxes and wellington boots (!) on the road but have so far been lucky.

Sorry to hear that Guy. I would have thought the factory would have extracted a digit from their behind rather quickly to get an existing customer back on the road.

Especially an Ambasador of the margue such as your good self (many enthusiasts born from countless passenger rides at PH events).

How bad is it? Is it not repairable?

Ran over dead Fox on way down south front of car lifted up as I went over it. Didn't want to get out and look. But I was lucky. Hope Teds Merry Men can give you an early Christmas presy...

Better luck for next year mate.

Thanks for your responses and to the factory. The car should be back to normal before christmas with the added bonus of a bigger radiator.

I got hit by a couple of Caterhams a year ago.

Luckily, my Mk4 has the "solid" bodywork that Ultima used to supply before they realised that aerodynamics can hold the car down on the track, rather than weight , so all I suffered was a few scratches on the side and a slightly bent front hinge bracket (soon straightened out with a "Big Hammer" (tm)).

Allowing one Caterham to get that close is one thing but two is just careless.

As the saying goes. You should see the other guy(s)

It was in an extremely wet race, where visibility out the front of the car was pretty poor, and visibility out the back was.... well, you all know what it's like.

Both times, the Caterhams thought they could see a gap up my inside coming into a corner. Both times I didn't see them, until I heard the bang, and found myself heading sideways off the track
