Can't comment specifically on the Ultima, as I'm stil "learning" her.
When taking previous kits on tours abroad, a fairly small toolkit can keep you going when the world seems hell-bent on stopping you
My Scamp (mixed metric and Imperial) had two cheapo sets of spanners [crescent wrenches] - Metrinch would be a good compromise, but are/were more expensive than buying two cheap sets. Although I tend to avoid poor-quality tools, a kit that stays with the car is someting that I treated as a special case.
Partial set of spanners in common sizes (e.g. half inch and 13mm), plus an adjustable [monkey wrench] - you can't tighten a nut/bolt combination with just one spanner!
Assortment of electrical connectors, a tool to suit, and a set of heavy-duty wire in a distinctive colour (so that any "patches" could get fixed properly at home); insulating tape and an assortment of tie-wraps. If the crimping tool doesn't have a cutter function, then also add a pair of side-cutters.
Pair of standard and a pair of needle-nose pliars.
Radweld.
Set of interchangable screwdrivers.
Copper/hide-headed combination hammer
Large screwdriver than can be used on screws, as a pry-bar, etc.
Assorted Jubilee clips
Junior hacksaw
Gaffer [tank] tape
Small length of copper pipe (couple of inches, can be used to bridge a damaged heater cable)
Retractable Stanley knife
That little lot sounds like a whole pile of expensive tools, but actually fitted (with a few spare bulbs and the like) into an 8"x6" plastic box that I bought.
Although the problem I had on my last French tour turned out to be that the three-week-old dizzy had fallen apart internally
, it allowed me to reset the timing innumerabl times, rewire the entire ignition circuit, reset the heater circuit (wakes you up, having a couple of litres of anti-freeze dumped on your left foot in rush hour!), replace the exhaust system, and change an engine mount. All on my lonesome.
The other moral of the story is not to go on a driving holiday with me - I'm obviously jinxed!
