Is it going to fit ?

have got new throttle on inlet manifold with new air plenum on the top it looks a bit tall can anyone with a can-am measure from the top of the inlet manifold (flat surface that carb sits on )to the top of the pan filter i have 6" full.I hope its going to fit taken alot of effort to get to were i am will be gutted if it does not . simon

Don't forget that the carb mounting plate height will vary depending on your intake manifold. You will probably be better measuring from a more consistant point, say from the top of the block which the manifold sits on (in the middle of the V at one end) then gauging it from there. I think you will be tight so any measurement errors could prove painfull!

Take a look at this photo, the rear clip will close on this fine. The carb centre stud measures 6 1/2" above the inlet manifold which is a Edelbrock Performer (not the Performer RPM) inlet manifold. The carb hat is at 6".

the inlet manifold is a victer jnr ,sounds like its going to be close was going to order a cone filter + pipework but i think i will wait until i put engine back in ,thanks for help guys !! simon

FWIW, the Performer RPM and Victor JNR's are similar height. If you dig about on Edelbrocks site, they provide the heights for all the manifolds - so you can compare yours against the Daves performer manifold (which i suspect is lower than both of ours)

ok got a better measurement , from the top of the block where the oil gauge connects to the top of the new plenum = 10.1/2" . how is engine gaz ? any more news ! simon
