Interior panel paint

is/has anybody used anything apart from Sperex Tough Black for the inside of their body panels. Have any of you tried Stealhkote ( www.stealthkote.com ). only availble in the states although they will ship worldwide. it looks as though it will do a job but i think it could also be quite heavy.

I have StealthKote applied under my dash, and externally all around the cockpit panels. Also on the firewall. It is a latex based paint with minerals in suspension so ends up fairly heavy, and to be really effective it is supposed to be installed with 3-5mm of thickness. I have 2-3mm everywhere, applied with a brush. It is the consistency of yogurt when in the can, but dries fairly hard. By tapping on a panel before application, and a week after, it makes a noticable difference. The "tinny" sound was gone, more of a soft thud. I have yet to start or drive my GTR, so don't know the every-day gain from this. See www.ultimagtr.ca for images of the StealthKote applied.

If this is rubber-like when dry then this is also the ideal coating for the underside of wheel arches to prevent stones from causing star cracks in the GF gel coat.

There used to be a similar product in the UK but it went out of manufacture.

It cures to a hard clay consistency, soft enough that a fingernail can leave an impression.

Back in my student days, we used to use a pitch/tar/bitumen like substance that you could 'brush' on under the wheel arches, but I doubt this would be suitable for the interior and I'm not sure if it would attack the fibre glass resin either...
