Have a look at Stigs old GTR website, I am sure here did something very similar after his car had been on the road a while. I would still question why it is necessary, I have a push horn on my steering wheel and two multistand cables routed back along the column. This works well and should not suffer over time as it does not twist much even on full lock.

It was necessary because my steering wheel was removable and the boss at the time didn't have connectors for the horn and indicators (which were all wheel mounted).
Be wary of the cheaper remote systems as they are prone to false activation. My GTR used an encoded signal tx/rx to avoid this.
Dave the horn is not part of the SVA (strange as it may seem!!) I found this out when I had my remote horn push in my pocket, as the SVA s/wheel pad would not stay on with the horn push insitu. It went off as I was getting out of the car and the guy said not to worry as it's not part of the test!!!

What remote system are you using? It needs to be instantaneous switching, I was going to use an alarm system, but the ones I found you have to hold the button for a second or so to arm the alarm. So, that delay is not that handy for a horn system.
Do you have a brand/model number - I can find most things in Hong Kong if I know the brand/model...but often these discussions dont go so well....last weekend went something like this:
Me: "excuse me, I want to buy a remote switching device to attach to the back of my removable steering wheel in a car I am building myself"
Shop Assistant: "Ngo m sick tang ying mun" (I dont speak english)
Me: "Yao mo yun hi do sik gong ying mun" (anybody here speak English)
Shop Assistant: "Oh , you Chinese vely good....I get fliend" (runs outside motioning me to follow) - I repeat request to him fliend.
Fliend: "He say dis is da aram system, lot for steeling weew horn"
Me: "Yes, I know that, what I want to do is modify it..... blah blah blah.." and lots of hand gestures.
Fliend: "Lo, dis is not steeling weew horn - what car you have"
Me: "Forget it"

If this is the type of situation that you regularly find yourself in (and I am willing to bet that it is!), it goes along way to explaining why you are like you are. Coupled to the fact that you work in the construction industry, I think that you have done remarkably well not to find yourself institutionalised

Sorry I've been a long time replying to this, couldn't for the life of me remember where I got it!
Anyway, it came to me today (for some unknown reason)

It's the 128S3-433F, 3 Channel System, 433MHz, 12/24Vdc Operation
It has switchable latching or momentary relays, which you need because the horn is momentary and the indicators latched. It uses a Keeloq system, so is secure from errant garage door opener FM signals etc. Nothing more embarrassing (and dangerous) than your indicators/horn operating themselves!!!

Guys, I would like to say that I have one of the Maplin 2 channel remote switches - I use it for operating door solenoids on my Aeon (no handles) Although it works very well, the response time is quite delayed so using it for a remote horn would not be practical as this needs to be instant.
