EFI all done ready for mapping

Looks good Simon
How come your exhaust still looks so silver in colour. Have you re-polished it? Mine looks gold and blue. The engine bay does look impressive. Can't wait to get mine finished. I am taking my new engine block for machining this week and collecting my new Holley EFI system. Looks like it will be late May before I have mine running.
Main job at the minute is making a panel to fill the hole I have cut in the bulkhead to clear the supercharger and drive belt. Take a look.
That's an old engine that I fitted yesterday to check the clearance around the supercharger.
All the best Dave

. SimonHi Simon
The rocker covers are made by Reverie www.reverie.ltd.uk
I nearly have all the parts to complete the procharger project now. Just need to spend some time on it. I'm booking some time off when the engine block is back from machining.
Cheers Dave

you're in March edition of PPC guys. Impressed by Dave Walker's solution to the 36-1 crank trigger. Will be interested to see how the tuning goes.
I guess you have some sort of solid damper, as a normal rubberised one wouldn't be any good for that idea. I was happy that my first attempt at making a damper remover was actually the same as daves second attempt!
hi guys dropped car off yesturday just have to wait now and leave it to Dave ....don,t know what i am going to do have not been seperated from the can-am in a long while .there is a blue fiesta ST in its place in the workshop .........wonder if i can get a chevy in it
.................front pulley is solid with a movable weight on the inside ,only concerns we have are will the plenum flow enough air for the V8 ,will the front pulley work ? will fuel injection work in a ultima ? the factory are very skeptical this has kept me awake a bit at night oh well to late now ....perhaps i should have spent the money on a rear wing as planned !!!

. SimonCome on guys, I know it's Feb but why the doom and gloom? Why would EFI not work in an Ultima, just about every other 'modern' car has it. There may be some things that need to be considered, like perhaps running a little rich at idle to aid cooling, time will tell. Then just think of the fuel saving, all that initial expense will pay dividends in the years to come (that's how I sold it to my wife
)
) Well, I've just been thwarted by dud battery - despite being on the charger overnight, unable to do more than a couple of sluggish turns over. The low temperature not helping. At least got a systems check on the MS via laptop, all sensor readings look OK. Moment of truth will have to wait.
I collect my EFI system this week and can't wait to get it working. It will be a while off yet as the new engine block is being machined at the minute. I know of several people running the same system as me and they have nothing but good things to say. Don't know why all the worries, fuel injected chevy engines have been around a long time. Even Ted had a fuel injected chevy is one of his Ultimas.

great news did not realise so many were working on fuel injection ,gdr which throttle body did you use ? were did you put injectors ? how are you controling which tank fuel returns to ? Even Ted had a fuel injected chevy is one of his Ultimas.????? he does ??? Dave what system are you going to use ?
Simon, go and have a look at the Ultima History on the factory site. He once had a very nice Kinsler setup - something I think gtrclive is using, he must be made of money

George (gdr), how was your MAP reading while cranking? I drove my Holley setup the other day with MS running to log EGO, RPM and MAP. I was suprised to find my MAP at 50kPa at idle, rather high so not sure if I have a leak or just connected to the wrong part of the carb!

Hi Simon
I'm using the Holley Commander 950 system. The system looks easy to use. I've read the manual several times. There is a base map close to my setup which should get me running. Friends of mine have a rolling road which is only a mile away, so I'll do some initial setting up there. There rollers trip out at 300HP so final WOT settings will be done somewhere else. The ECU does have a datalogger which will also help setting up. Brad(usagtrman) in the US is running the same system in his GTR. I heard good things about this system and it was ideal for me to use it with my supercharger, which was designed to blow through a holley carb. All I have to do is change to a 2bar MAP sensor and fit bigger injectors. This photo is from Brads site(Hope that's ok Brad).
