Looked at a couple of cars GTR or Can Am ?

A GTR everytime and also because its more allround, and I like a car with a roof, I hate the windnoise of a softtop and I like the looks with a fixed roof

It is a very personal choice, why ask. But when it comes to colour there is no choice at all - yellow everytime!

For me, the Canam just didn't look 'finished', and as much as I'd prefer an open topper for those rare summery days the GTR was the only choice for me...

If I was going to do the open top thing, it'd have to be a brushed alloy AC Cobra...

As for colour, yellow is so yesterdays red...

I've got a black one, much less likely to date on the looks front ;-)

Very personal choice as has already been said, I found the GTR a little claustrophobic inside, I much prefer how the Canam looks and have always loved open air motoring so the Canam was a no brainer.

The GTR is slightly more practical with our weather, but you can get the factory to supply a hood for your Canam if you buy one with the full screen option. However, I have to say that practicality is probably the last thing that anyone buying or building an Ultima has top of their wish list, so get a drive in one of each and go with what your heart says!

Oh and Red ones are deffo fastest, that is until it changes colour to Orange!

Nobby, easy. If you prefer the look of the Audi R8 go for the Can-Am. If you prefer the look of the Bentley Speed 8, go for the GTR !

From a design point of view, the side view of a CanAm is great, it looks a bit lower and longer than the GTR. The best of both worlds would be a (removable) Carbon Fibre hard-top for the CanAm, IMHO. Would love to build something like that (bit like the Carrera GT, which also looks better closed, again IMHO).

Thanks guys,thats why I asked plenty of input and as i don't know what I want your comments are much valued.I do like both so its a case of a good car at a good price in the right colour.

I tried to make an offer on the Red ultima Can Am(ultimate ultima) that was built by Ron Murphy and featured in which kit.The dealer who had it on offer said it had gone back to the owner.Does anyone know of the cars or Ron's whereabout's.

Could be the one for me!!!

Canam all the way....... I started making a hard top for mine, but then got the softop and realised I needn't bother thus never finished it.
