Getrag 6sp Ring and pinion change -group buy!!!

I've been talking to Roger Brown at PowerHausII ( www.powerhausii.com ) about either making up a new 4/5/6 gearset or ring and pinion for the Getrag 6spd transaxle. My preference would be the R&P change. Here is what I'm thinking:

Cost would be somewhere in the $3000 range and about $1200 if you have them do the change. This would cut RPM by 500 at 78MPH in 6th (from 3000 to 2500). I would be up for even a bigger jump, but I'm not sure it's marketable. We need 5 people to make this happen. Looking at 6 month lead time for the first sets. I know this is not cheap or quick, but for those of us with the Getrag this would make a really nice transaxle.

I'd be very interested in the Getrag R&P change.
Being in the UK I would gave to get another company to do the change or if possible do it my self.
Please keep me updated and hopefully we will get a few more to make it viable.

Hi Bill. I'm up in Minneapolis and have a factory supplied 6spd Getrag in my GTR.

I'm interested in upping the ratios, but honestly, they can all move up about 25%. I don't even use first anymore - would a simpler approach be to change the diff ratio?

Changing the R&P is changing the diff ratio. I agree, moving everything up about 25% would be about right.

are you sure that gearing is right? I remember one going over 200mph on the lemans straight a while back...did it have the 5 speed?
