Road Track Experience

Hey Guys,

Any one have some good stories of track experience with there Ultima? I would love some stories about how much faster they are than all the production supercars. Anyone wipe a smile off a F430, Viper, Lambo or 911TT ownes face? Anyone that was just plain faster (car not driver).

How about off track, does every one try are get you to race? Anyone you have not been able to beat on the street?

No quite but I have wiped off many a smile on all the above with the Radical and XTR2.Still think that the Ultima would make an awsome road car though.On track you just can't beat low weight for braking,cornering etc!

Just went to a track day, my first. The car was an absolute rocket but the most impressive part was the endless and extreme braking ability of the car. I drove the car 4 hours each way to participate.

So is it the track weapon you had hoped?
How'd you fare against the other cars there?

It is alot faster than I am. I had to steer the car around the corners, mechanical advance distributor gives me enough of a throttle lag that throttle steering is difficult. I'll try to remedy this with a more aggressive advance curve but its likely that I'll end up with vacuum advance.

Other than that I'm planning to safety wire everything. It is a scary fast car.

Had a similar experience with mine. The brakes are unbelievable and in the hands of the right driver the car flat out flys around the track. All the instructors fought to drive the car. I'm not at the point of steering with the throttle yet. My plan with track days is to stick with one track and a good instructor and slowly build up my skill and confidence. Work on being smooth first and not worry about speed. I'm going back up to TWS tomorrow for a 3 day track day (Fri.,Sat.,Sun.). Maybe I'll have a chance to wash the car this time! I'm going to do a May event and then retire the car through the summer while I work on a new fuel tank setup.

I had some fun of the lights with a Merc SL AMG last summer. Left him for dead and when he caught me up at the next set he was so full of praise for the Ultima as he had really tried to say with me. It only had 420BHP then. 600+ BHP this summer with traction control and a singing supercharger. YEEEEE HAAAAA! Can't wait to get it on a track.
