Just got PPC for this month.

Dave Walker is doing some work on a Can Am with fuel injection.

Who's is it?

I am toying with the idea of injecting mine to get rid of the poor driveability, eye stinging fuel smell at idle and stalling under breaking.

I would like to know more about the setup ECU, injectors size, manifold, throttle body, compression ratio (you can get away with more CR with a mapped set up)
is it fueling or fuel and spark?

Damn, I've forgot his name and it's on the tip of my tongue but he posts here. So will probably be along in a moment. We were talking about emerald efi a while back so I'll check some threads.

Reckon it will be Simon's, he posts as Tuxman.

I think the first mapping session also showed the throttle body was not large enough.

I'm waiting for someone like Boosted to come up with a bolt on efi kit with all the problems solved. Lazy bastard me.

try Megasquirt - it works, doesn't have to be expensive (relatively) and can tune by driving and data logging (although no doubt session on roller with suitable guru like DW would certainly be a good thing).

The emerald has been used on a few ls1 conversions now, so it's a very good place to start. Fit a trigger wheel onto the crank pulley and pin the pulley to the crankshaft so it can't slip. Dave Walker has several maps which I'm sure he would start you off with

I don't believe in the so called plug and play US options as the ones I've come across never delivered.

Hi adequatespeed, yep its our can-am been a interesting project done for all the reasons you list .E.c.u is a emerald unit supplied by Dave Walker it controls the ignition and fueling so is fully mappable ,throttle body is a auto-nomics unit from the states with the bores increased fromm 33mm to 40mm .inlet manifold is a victor jnr modified to suit 32lb injectors, the front damper is machined so we could fit a crankshaft sensor for the igntion ,the system works very well first mapping session came up with 370 bhp and 400lb/ft of torque at 4300 rpm at the road wheels but the biggest hain has been the overall drivability its a hugh step forward easy to start good tickover with no stalling problems !!! New cold air airbox system is a massive benifit and i wish i had done it with the carb next mapping session is the 23 of june will be interesting to see final results . simon
