Kickplates

For any of you who've done a long journey in an Ultima, you may have found that your thigh muscles ache quite a bit after a while. This is because you haven't got anything to rest your heels against, so support them with the muscles in your upper leg (well, that's my experience anyway).

With this in mind, I've designed a kickplate that fits just in front of the pedal box. Finished in 2mm chequerplate, it's simple, neat and does the job admirably (though I confess, I won't have a chance to thoroughly road test until Sunday).

I had a limited batch made up, so if you're interested, let me know. I'll post the price inc. p&p here later once I've found out how much the fabrication was.

Err... as I said, it gives you something to rest your heels against so you don't end up supporting the weight of your legs with your thigh muscles. Hence, no more leg ache.

I've had a similar rest in mine for more than a year having found the same muscle strain.
Works well. Have fitted mine so only the right foot is supported so that it does not restrict a full thrust of the clutch pedal. The left foot rests on a smaller version of the passengers foot rest.

Also interested as I also agree on long distances get leg ache,not to bad for left leg as I rest it on the passengers foot rest. Once you have a price please make contact.

I was concerned about that too Steve, but after a test today can confirm that it doesn't interfere with the clutch (and I've got size 10.5 feet)

You can trim them easily enough if you wish.

Looks good. Drove to Cornwall and back yesterday, Find that try to balance right foot on bracket and put left on passenger plate. Let me know how you get on. Just need a nice little pillow to rest your right elbow on!

Brian - the kickplate works treat. Much more comfortable now and you just forget it's there. Shame you didn't make it on Sunday, but after your Saturday run I'm not surprised!
