Over heating solutions that work cross the pond..
Hello after 30+ years buiding American Hi-po engines i've learned a few tricks that work to help reduce over heating & engine heat build in high out put performance engines when stuck in traffic or when pushed to the limits @ the track.. such as in the Nevada @ 118F+ on a summer day..& @ Death Valley were the temp. reaches 128+F regularly
1- On SBC & BBC check your to see if your water pump has an open impeller
eg: remove back plate on pump if you see fins.. it is open.. coolant flow is lost around the open blade/fins of the impeller .. dirt cheap fix..add flow kooler impeller kit.. cost 8.00 USD increases water pumps coolant flow approx 25% this really helps in most cases it all you need to drop overall temps 10 to 20 degrees.
2- Replace that stock thermostat with Moroso brass high flow stat.
4- Yes add Red-Line Wetter & 1 gallon of -20 below heat tranfer agent to coolant.. not 100% sure whats in this stuff but it works .
5-There are many new high CFM fans out there we use 2800 & 3200 CFM fans
All the above items will help reduce your engines running tempetures drasticaly & most are dirt cheap .. except the 2800 CFM approx 200 USD.
6-Last but not least always load largest capacity rad you can fit in your car.
