Anyone know a full list of spec / visual differences between the Sport & GTR models. Also what is the cost to purchase just the rear GTR clip? There is an unfinished Ultima Sports project advertised in the classifieds that I may be interested in.

A word of warning chaps.

It's not entirely clear from that ad. (the project currently in the classifieds) but whilst the bodywork is from Ultima - that's about it. There are a few examples of these 'replicas' about and I believe this is one of them.

Bear in mind, that if you buy one, the factory will have nothing to do with it. They will not supply Ultima parts for one either (nor will they fit).

When buying an Ultima, check the chassis number checks out with the factory. The price may seem cheap at first glance, but like everything in life, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the reply Stig. It's great to have the forum to refer to for advice. Will check it out and if is one of those which you talk about, will steer well clear.

I think you are right there, Stig. The chassis does not look an Ultimas' The top rear rail in the pic is square instead of round!

Yeah, on closer inspection of the photos the kit doesn't look to be up to Ultima's usual standard - even the bodywork doesn't look too sharp - not the usual prisitine gelcoat finish from the factory.

Will give this one a miss.

It's disappeared from the classifieds. Guess the owner figures he has little chance of selling it with all you experts around.

The Sport body did not come in "pristine gel coat" It require a good deal of filling and sanding to get a good surface, prior to painting, so that might have been a genuine Ultima Sport body (but not chassis!)
