G64/51, 993 Porsche TT Gear Box in an GTR ?
Discussion
Hi Everybody,
as you can read in my thread from saturday, my G50 01 committed suicide. Now I might have the chance to buy a G64/51. But it is originally a 4wheeldrive Gear box. Does anyone know if it´s possible to built it in an GTR with just rear-wheel-drive. If so, what changes have to be done....
Thanks
Lutz

I believe the answer is, "Yes". But, I don't know what it takes to complete the modification.

Yes it can be done. Kristian Maajola has one in his Lexus TT powered Ultima. You need to manufacture a new rear housing, cut the axle for AWD, new rear mount and modify the shifter linkage. We have both dumped the solid linkage due to it's poor functionality and designed our own cable shift systems.
In this video you can see how the gearing is... ftp://mazz.myftp.org/1000/mazz_ultima.avi
