I have the one Simon is talking about. It is a DMS Technologies Red Top 40 it will give 1150 cranking amps. It measures 220mm length by 97mm width by 206mm high. I got mine from www.demon-tweeks.co.uk

The DMS Red top used to be standard factory fit, however it doesn't like deep discharge, so don't bother if you have an alarm/tracker. Otherwise they are great.

The current factory choice, Odyssey, will happily recover from a deep discharge if you use the right charger.

I keep mine hooked up to an Optimate when not in use especially as it has an alarm/immobiliser.

Nothing more frustrating than going to jump in for a blast and getting a 'click-click' from a discharged battery.

Yep, mine is a Red Top 40, but they are now Varley or something like that. Rally Design will probably be the cheapest supplier! Good strong battery, as Tuxman said it is very strong during cranking and I don't bother topping up with my charger for weeks without any issues.

The Red Top 40 that I find on the web has different dementions then what you posted. They show a Length of 250mm. I am at work and not at the car so I do not know if that will fit without modification.

Hi Cmoody,

I replaced the utlimasports battery with a Varta, VARTA
No. 545 155 034 2082, 45 AH, L 238mm B 129mm H 227mm.
It fits. It´s just 1kg + compared to odysses, but supplies
3 times the AH, 45 AH instead of 16 AH.

Hope that helps

I found the problem....The altenator is wired to be a one way when it is a three way. This causes a draw when the car is sitting. Will be replacing the alt after track day at Sebring. I will post a video soon.
