I have been working on the wife for over a year now, and she's getting weak. My last successful lobbying attempt was a few years ago when I got the approval for a Pantera purchase.

The plan quickly went awry when I got into the car. I was able to get in, but my right leg was wedged between the steering wheel and dashboard. The only way I could reach the ignition switch at this point was to reach under my right knee after lifting my foot off the pedal. I could steer if I moved my leg to the right, but I had to move my leg back into the steering wheel to shift. Not an optimal arrangement.

I am 6'2". I am concerned at this point that I may not properly fit in an Ultima.

Will any of you be taking your Ultimas to shows in the next few months? I am leaning towards a Can-Am, but I suppose if I fit in a GTR the Can-Am will only be better.

I am not looking for a ride, just a test fit. I am located in southern Maryland and don't mind driving a few hours.

Thanks,
Jeff

I managed to squeeze a friend who is 6'7" into the passenger seat of my GTR, I do have a dropped floor pan that helps. Admittedly he would not be able to drive it in any comfort as he is so blinking tall and his knees were on the dash. I would guess at 6'2" with a dropped floor pan that you should be able to fit. In the Can am there would be no issue with the height however, the issue (I think) would be if your knees and legs would fit. I am 5' 9" and I sit almost as far forward as the seats will allow. As for the shows, do not know at the moment. Will keep you posted if I decide to go to any.

I guess you really need to sit in a car to see. I am sure that Ultima themselves would help you make the decision.

Watcha scuff, where have you been hiding recently then?. Anyway, back on topic, I have a pal who is 6'5" and although not easy, he is able to drive an Ultima and indeed drove all the way to Le Mans and back with no trouble (I know it's not THAT far but bear in mind the guys predicament).Another fella I know who is building a car is 6'5" but he has a lot of upper body height and even with a drop floor could still do with another few inches headroom, but where there's a will, there's a way and good luck.

As has been indicated body proportion is a factor. If it helps I am 6'1" with 33" inside leg. I fit my GTR just fine.

If you can make it there is a US Ultima meet where I'm sure you will test fit a number of cars and more than likely blag a ride.

Perhaps you could consider getting your legs shortened of having a few vertebrae taken out of your spine so you can fit?..... I mean some people say they they'd give their left testicle to own one...
