Florida or California (not a holiday question)

I maybe moving to the US for 9 months next year.
The only thing I know about America is from CSI and you have cheep fuel.
So where would you recommend I live?
My 2 options are California or Florida.
Are there any Ultima owners in that area?
What are my chances of getting shot?

Florida very hot in the summer (with tornado's) most of the car show's are in there winter (which is more like our high summer)..
California more of a tempered climate still hot in the summer but not so humid, I would go California if I had a Choice.....

I live in Sarasota FL, which is on the West coast about 1 hour south of Tampa. I love it here. Here are some of the ups and downs:

Florida has some of the flatest straighest roads in the world. Good to go fast not so great for cornering.

The weather is great. It gets hotter in other parts of the country but our summers last 6 to 7 months. In the summer it will always rain about 4:00 PM. In the winter it never freezes but you gould need a jacket for a few days. The people here are great. On the East coast of Florida you get a lot of the New Yorkers, here on the west coast you get the type of people that enjoy living.

Yes we have hurricaines but they add to the excitement. We have in Sarasota on of the nicest beaches in the world. The sand is like walking on baby powder and it is almost as white. There is good fishing and boating and there is always something to do, even though it is considered a small city.

Yo Doc, Lived on Ocean Front Walk, Mission Beach in San Diego for two years, our apartment had a small yard in front then the board walk then the beach, the Totty was rollerblading and walking along the board walk all day long absolutely georges, think they must ship all the ugly birds to another State, probably mid East. So got to be S California, if you can put up with the mud slides, fires, earthquakes, car jacking, totty probably makes up for that though, otherwise Frorida.
