Well, the reason I did'nt get to the factory open day in the Ultima was because of a bad earth from the engine to chassis.
I thought the battery was stuffed, so thanks to Pb3 for the advice
Saved me buying a new battery.
It was also the reason the temp gauge went off the scale while cruising up the A1.
All I did was clean up the terminals and it's been fine.
I think that monsoon I drove through some weeks back had something to do with it though. It's a testament to the build quality of these cars that it did'nt kill the electrics completely. I'm sure any other "kit" car would have died instantly!

Good new Gary, so I will be seeing you Sunday? By the way is your car still up for sale?
Yep, see you Sunday. Not sure if I will run though! Will see what conditions are like first. I can't afford to bin it!!!
Car is still up for sale....sort of! Still have'nt put our house on the market yet, so until that happens, I'm quite happy for it to stay

Good to hear you got it running again. I was worried about the earth on my car when I did the upgrade to EFI so I fitted a second one. I now have the original going from the underside of the exhaust mounting bolt to the gearbox and a second one going from the main electrical earth point to the LHS head. Don't know if it made much of a difference but the start does seem a little bit nippier than before.
