'Spose it depends what you want out of it?
a) If you wanna get in, turn the key, and drive a fantastically well sorted low production sports car - get a Noble, you'll feel special.
b) If you wanna climb in, take a deep breath, push the button, drive something that you will never have experienced before - get an Ultima, you'll feel in a league of your own.
Both great cars. Honestly, from driving both, the Noble is a more practical car which could pass, just, as an everday car. For me, I have an everyday car, as I suspect every Ultima owner has, and I like to be a little different with my 'weekend' run-a-round. Depends totally on your circumstance - second car/track car/tourer/poseur
The Ultima isn't just for Christmas though, if you know what I mean. I am finding it becomes a way of life. You might wanna consider that one......and perhaps discuss with Mrs/Miss Hollowpockets.
Nice dilema though.

If you have a penchant for fluffy toys, flower arranging and knitting then get yourself a Noble.
If, on the other hand, you consider yourself to be a 'Man', and by that I mean a Mans Man, get an Ultima. Lee designed them both as you well know but the Ultima was designed with competition and ultimate car dynamics in mind where as the Noble was always meant to be an earner for the man himself and was designed with a profit making motive in mind and to that end alone can never be a more accomplished performer than the Ultima, although it may well be more everyday usable as P has already pointed out. I dare say that if this same question was asked on the Noble forum they would say similar all be it biased in the Nobles favour but they would be wrong.

I have to agree with all that LuckyP said. I test drove a Noble last year before I bought my Can-Am and as much as the Noble is a geat drivers car and it truely is, it was not for me. The Noble is not a car you want to alter or mess with in any way. But the Ultima is a car you can enjoy the mechanics of. The Ultima engine bay looks stunning but the engine bay of the noble looks like the engine bay of any boring production car. If you just want to drive get the Noble. If you want a whole new experience get an Ultima.

Judging by a friends experinece, even though Nobles are track biased road cars, they don't seem too durable if you do use them on track.
Very quick when they're running right though, especially the M400. Be interesting to see how a 400hp Ultima would fare - Nobles certainly handle very very well.

Sorry for (slightly) hi-jacking the thread, but the price you're talking about includes the Exige S. I've been thinking about building an Ultima* for a few years now. Obviously the performance of the Ultima is going to be on another level compared with my S, but is it really that track focussed? Am I going to lose anything on my favourite twisties with the 'big-power' delivery of the Ultima. Many of my favourite roads seem to unsettle the exige a bit (bumps, cambers etc), would this be even more of a problem with the Ultima? I'd like to have a car to use for track days only, but I do still enjoy fast-road driving. Budget won't allow both

)Ultima is far more composed on the road than an Elise IMHO.
STIG, i just spent an hour reading through your can-am project! looks very impressive work and i love your attention to detail! i would also be very anal about it should i ever build one, but due to financial circumstances i am more likely to buy used and make improvements etc.
really like the paintjob and the carbon theme,stainless and black leather, the only thing i would change is the position on the air vents and the buttons on the dash, otherwise a car i aspire to!
better get saving!

That's the great thing about Ultimas, you can customise them to your requirements. Have a look at my GTR site if you want something more hardcore
