My 'Keyless' is by way of my alarm system which has a central locking output. It only requires the addition of £15 worth of actuators and time fabricating the required mounting brackets. If you don't want to go the alarm route then Maplins or RS will sell you a remote fob system.
Setting the alarm locks the car and vise verse.
In my setup the key no longer functions but I believe Chris did his so that if needed the key would still open the car.

The actuators are on a bracket which is trapped behind the door lock mechanism when it is bolted to the door. See my web site under 'doors' for pictures. You should be able to rip them off of my site and blow them up. If not I can send them to you. Chris may have some pics on his site so you can choose which to copy (unless he copied mine).
The brackets are aluminium origami and took quite a few hours to perfect but work very well.
Not seen any message. Where would it have come too?

Guy - it's easy enough to install a system that will work with your existing Toad alarm (if it's the model that I think it is?). As Steve said, mine has actuators in each door that operate the existing locks. My doors came pre-fitted with the locks and I preferred to have a manual backup!
It works a treat and could be done for as little as 15 quid and a bit of fabrication
