just saw your car in the members ride section and think it looks great. is the car black or custom painted and how are the headlight enclosures done, in silver or chrome? they look better that way than black. nice ride man.

Hello Eric, thanks for the compliments about the car, and welcome aboard. Sorry I havent got back to you as quickly as I would normally, but I have been away for a few days.

The car was factory built to specific customers requirements. I have merely bought it second-hand. The paint job is awesome, and I bought this car virtually on its appearance alone, as the car required major mechanical work. I beleive the colour is an Alfa Romeo colour called "anthracite" (a dark grey metallic), as I was advised by the factory. The headlights are chromed, and were done as a special, again, on behalf of the customer. Ted and co. at Ultima know all the history with the car, so this is probably your best route for advice as I am still finding things out about the car as time goes on. I see from your profile that you are in Japan. I wonder if there are any Ultima's in Japan? Are you going to build one? Not sure how the car would get through the strict emissions regulations there! Now I only have to wait about a month and the beast will be on the road at last. Watch this space

Simon say that another car now has Cromed headlights now. Say it at the factory, it also looks like a Pimpmobile.... have you got the furry dice yet.

Si - good to see you took those 'orrible badges off and the strips on the side grills. Car looks really nice! Love those chromed headlamp pods but I don't think they'd suit mine.

Look forward to meeting up on the 27th?

yeah, i like the chrome. i don't think it would work for the lighter colors but maybe blue and black. i do plan on building an ultima soon, but not in japan. i currently own a ducati sportbike and have not yet brought it to japan because there is a possiblity it could cost around $2000 for import fees and they might have to modify it to their emission standard. every two years, all cars must pass an extensive inspection and unless i went the ls1 route which i don't plan on, there is no way an ultima would pass emissions. plus, i don't even want to ask them about registration and such. i will move back to the US soon and that is where i will build it. sucks when something you want is so far away, but til then i'll be on this board. once again, nice car.

Funny tho, I didn't take the badges off and the strips on the side grills, as the car is "as is" when I bought it. Are you sure that it was my old car you saw? I had a few pics from other members that have seen it at Ted's place, but I have none showing those mods. I would agree with you about the chrome headlamp enclosures given your colour, but weren't you all for painting it a while ago?? Dark blue metallic if my memory serves me correctly. Sure would look good then... but that leaves the other problem of a choice between the car looking like a girls dressing room (er a bit like mine) or looking like a track monster - tough choice! Either way you can't win

Personally If I had your mill in my car the body would have to be black aka bluesatin - there's something about a black GTR that sets it apart from the rest... it just reminds me of a cruise missile. When the kids ask you, "What's under the hood mate?", anything less than a nuclear powered turbine just aint gonna cut the mustard! So as you have got a blue car, are you going to fit those nice little blue neon lights underneath???

As for the 27th, I am really hoping my new "top secret" engine will be ready for unveilling! I may will be wrong here, but as far as I am aware, I think I may be the first to have the er "extras" on my engine in a GTR, as you have had the blower. Oops I just had to delete that line as I nearly gave the game away! Watch this space.
