I have a feeling that the rear nearside bearing is either breaking up or drying out. I have started to notice the slightest of noise from the rear. I have rotated the wheel and it feels fine and no grease is yet melting but the hub is slightly hotter than the others after a run. Does anybody know the nut size and torque wrench settings?
Cheers
Blue
Are you sure it's not a problem with the hand brake calliper?
Mine grumbles a bit. Noticable at slow speed.

Thanks Paul
I have stipped the rear near side and the handbrake is fine (I think as it does very little at the best of times) I would be happy if i just checked the bearing to see it was ok.
I suggest you check the CV joint as if it has ever thrown grease chances are it may be running dry.
After my unfortunate wrong CV joints episode I have monitored mine closely and have found the ones I have had trouble with throwing grease very quickly run dry if not topped up.
Cheers Andy
The CV joints felt cold but plan to have a look just in case.
The nut is 41mm across flats. The torque is as tight as you can get it with a big wrench. The figure is 180-210 ft lbs but you are not likley to find a torque wrench that big just laying around.
