Hi, can anybody help me with some pictures of the front towing ring, both inside the front clip, and outside, I would like to fit one. It is detachable I take it ? so that you can lift the front clip, but what do you attach it to ? and will I have to weld a bracket arount the radiator area. some photos would be apreciated. Thanks Guys.
Hi,
Can't help specifically, but here is a link to a previous thread:

It's a subject that I've been considering recently. I don't really want to cut a big hole in the rad mesh (as I've seen just what you can collect from fast motorway cruises). And I really don't wanna interfere with opening of the front.
So how about a ring mounted vertically, then the slot through the mesh would be filled buy the back half of the tow eye. Paint it flurescent green or orange and bob's your uncle - a race track inspired tow eye.

Do you not have a build manual as it is shown in there.
It's a plate with the ring in front and three fixing points. These are spaced such that one fixing goes down through each of the three chassis bars coming to a point behind the front most chassis member. These bars form the floor area just in front of, and below, the rad. The plate is spaced up from the floor by about 10mm. It stays in place and the front clip just rolls over it. If I recall the gap in the grill to allow it to pass is not large but is not shown in the manual.
The rear ring simply bolts to the underside of the rear cross member.

I made/fitted front and rear tow eyes a couple of years ago. If you are careful the gap around the front tow eye can be quite small, actually the height of the gap on mine ended up being less than the normal hole size. I have never found any debris entering from the front grill so I don't think you need to worry too much. You will also need to remove some of the fibreglass to clear the eye when the front is lifted up. And it is possible to do it all without taking the front clip off!
