Gear Linkage Question

Hello,

I know I can probably find this in the build manual, but does anyone know how to disconnect the gear changing rods so that I can remove them from the car. I am converting to the Renegade cable shifter---more to come later.

Does it unscrew at the universal joints? very stubborn!!

Just knock out the rollpins from the UJs and it will come apart.

I will still need to get the rose joint off of the rod to pull through the firewall. Will I need to unscrew the UJ off the rod? Normal threading, just stubborn???

You will probably need to depending on the size of the hole in the cockpit firewall.

Rotate the UJ until you can see the pin. Then hammer it through with a suitable drift. Then pull it off. I will probably be tight, so may need some 'persuasion' There's no thread - it just pushes onto the end of the rod.

If it's stuck well on, you may need to heat the UJ to get it off the rod.
